Community Service: Letters to Seniors

If you are interested in sending letters and/or artwork to seniors in the community, please sign up using the link and include in your response how many letters you will write – deadline to sign up for this opportunity is Sunday, March 27th. The mailing address for the letters will be provided at the beginning of April.  

Here are some guidelines for writing the Letters to Seniors:

·  Recipients enjoy learning about the volunteer writing to them, so feel free to share a little about yourself and your interests.

·  Write in large print, many of the recipients have some vision loss.

·  If using colored paper, make sure wording can be read clearly

·  Write legibly, handwritten letters are preferred

·  Please address the letter to “Dear Friend” and sign with your name and “a volunteer with the Greater Nashville Regional Council” – so they know why they are getting a letter from you.

·  April Round: Easter/Spring theme; letters mailed to arrive with recipients between April 1st and April 31st. For Easter delivery please mail them by April 11th
