From Stigma to Strength: Real Conversations for Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
We know that joy isn’t always easy to access especially when life feels heavy. For many in our community, navigating the weight of grief, burnout, loneliness, or day-to-day struggles can make joy feel distant or even out of reach.
But joy is still possible. And sometimes, the key to unlocking it is looking inward and reaching back.

In our latest mental health video spotlight, Frat InDEspensable shares a simple but powerful truth:
“I look to find things that brought me joy... hobbies, time with loved ones, even buying myself something small. All of those things bring me back to a place of peace.”
Reclaiming Joy as Resistance
In a world that constantly demands more of us, where rest is often seen as weakness and joy can feel like a privilege we can’t afford—choosing joy is revolutionary.
It doesn’t have to be a big, loud, or expensive moment. Sometimes it’s:
✨ Returning to a childhood hobby
✨ Calling someone who knows your heart
✨ Treating yourself without guilt
✨ Sitting in silence and giving yourself permission to just be
Frat InDEspensable’s reflection reminds us that joy isn’t gone—it’s just waiting to be remembered. Sometimes it lives in the small acts of self-connection, the familiar, and the intentional.

💬 Reflect with Us
If you’re in a season where joy feels hard to access, we see you. And we encourage you to ask yourself:
✔️ What used to make me smile?
✔️ What simple thing could I do today, just for me?
✔️ Who or what brings me back to center?

You deserve moments of happiness. You deserve ease. You deserve joy—even in hard times.
